Bonus Blog - In Depth 80/20 Time

Hey, as promised, I'm back with my in depth 80/20 Time blog. In summary, 80/20 time states that in business, 20% of your effort and time produces 80% of the results in your business. This ratio isn't exact, but is a good estimation of most areas in your life. I spoke earlier about how to identify this time and utilize it. Now, I will go into more depth with some techniques you can use to get started right away.

You'll have to get very lean with your time and what you do. You can start by:

1. Cutting the time you check your email a day to 30 mins to an hour - Identify your most common emails from customers and outsource this to an employee or downline. Express to them that you only want to deal with the most urgent or uncommon emails. Or the big money makers. Routine orders should'nt take up a lot of your time.

2. Let your phone go to voice message more often - If it's important, they'll leave a message. This will allow you flexibility and give you control of when you will have your phone time. Let your organization and customers know that you will only be available for a given window each day to speak on the phone. Have team conference calls once a week to answer to clear up FAQ's or disseminate knowlege.

3. Schedule all your follow ups with customers to an hour per week on a given day - Make them work to your schedule, not the other way around. You only want to spend your time on reoccuring customers and not the occasional penny throwers. If they are a valued customer, they'll recognize your value and do what you ask to recieve your services, so don't be afraid.

4. Start a 30 day media fast - I've been a media fast for several months, and I'm still current with today's important news, while not being inundated with negative imagery all day. This media fast will free up your time to explore other things. I know major conditions about my industry by reading websites (on my own time) without having to know what Beyonce wore to the Grammys.

This type of time mastery is uncommon, but is well worth it as it frees up so much of your time to enjoy the finer things in life. When you take control of your life and your time and start being the cause instead of living at the effect, a whole new world of freedom and possibility will open up for you. I hope these tips were helpful. Until next time, Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it!

The Man in the Mirror

Have you ever looked into the mirror and been disgusted by what you saw? I don't mean the mirror in your bathroom, I mean the mirror of your life. You may not be leading the live you'd hope to lead or dreamed to lead. You may not have the job you would like to have, or making as much money as you'd like to have, or have as much time as you'd like to have.

So what did you do? You tried to learn tips and tricks to make more money. Find another business op, or get another job. You tried to apply time management tricks to free up your time. You blamed your boss for your lack of a raise or the economy for the sudden crunch in your business. In essence, you try to draw on the mirror to fix the reflection. No matter how much you draw on the mirror, the reflection won't change. To change the reflection, you must change the man in the mirror. You must change yourself.

This is what so many people do and it is what seperates those in life that create they life of their dreams, versus those that just settle. Which are you? If you are the latter, it's time to wake up and stop drawing on the mirror. Take responsibility for your life and stop blaming others.

The secret to success in your business is and always will be YOURSELF. By working on yourself, you will in turn see a surge in your business you never thought possible. This is why any serious entrepreneur spends time everyday on personal development.

The blueprint for that mental transformation and the key to changing your reflection starts at http://www.lambstolionsbook.com/ You can get a free copy of my personal development book for entrepreneurs, filled with cutting edge techniques to transform you into the entrepreneur you want to be.

You will also get my Lambs to Lions newsletter that goes more in depth on the mental transformation through personal development that needs to take place. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it!

Time Management for Entrepreneurs Part 4 - 80/20 Time

A major problem most home business entrepreneurs face is wasting too much time on the things that don't really matter. The 80/20 Rule states that 20% of our activity produces 80% of our results.

What part of your business produces 80%of your cashflow? It's the actual business transaction and not setting up or maintaining your funnel. These things have to be done, but you don't have to spend as much time on them as you think you do.

The concept of 80/20 time says you only spend time on things that produce the result for you. Everything else should be outsourced as you get larger. I've come up with a formula to do this.

1. Identify your goals with your time

2. Identify the income producing activity

3. Identify the "must-dos" to keep your business running

4. Find ways to outsource or automate the "must-dos"

5. Put these ideas into action

This strategy will drastically increase your avaialable time which will leave you in the posistion to meet your identified goal in step 1. When you are spending less time on things that don't make you money, and more time on things that actually do, your profits will increase. As I stated before, this stems from having the proper mindset.

You can learn how to shift your mindset to that of a TRUE entrepreneur at http://www.lambstolionsbook.com/ There you can download my free ebook called Lambs to Lions.

Time Management for Entrepreneurs - Effective Scheduling

Today's blog is on effective scheduling and how to do it. It's absolutely vital to the health of your business. A man that fails to plan, plans to fail. Getting your schedule done properly can mean the difference between making money that day or losing money that day. True entrepreneurs know this and are able to schedule their tasks effectively.

Effective scheduling is done in 5 steps.
1. Identify how much time you have
2. Block out the necessities such as work or commute
3. Schedule in your high priority and urgent tasks
4. Make sure you have contingency or slack time
5. Schedule in time to meet your business or personal goals

If you reach step 5 and you don't have a lot of time left, go back through your day and see what you can delegate, or cut time down on. The point is to get your time very lean so that you know exactly where you are going next and how long it should take.

I've personally seen my productivity shoot through the roof when I implemented this versus just having a task list for the day. The entrepreneurs that get results are the ones that run their business like a business, and what business do you know that doesn't have a daily agenda?

Stay tuned for more in depth training on the 80/20 rule and how it applies to your business so you can become a leverage master!

Time Management Techinques Part 2 - Overcoming Procrastination

I really don't feel like writing this blog, so I'll do it later. Hey everyone and welcome to part 2 of my series on time management techniques. We've all experienced the beast called Procrastination. It can act like a theif to rob you of your time before you know it. And the worse part is, when you look up, you have no one to blame but yourself, and that awful feeling of knowing you still have this horrible task to complete. Well I'm here today to give you some time management techniques I use to overcome procrastination.

I remember as a kid, my mother would ask me to rake the leaves in the yard in autumn. This was a task I absolutely hated and I'd be out there for hours. Most of my time out there would be spent just holding the rake or trying to invent better ways to do it. Cursing my mother and listing all the reasons I hated raking leaves. At the end of the day, I'd still have to get it done and I had no one to blame but myself for being out there so long beacuse I was just procrastinating.

Procrastination can be detrimental to your business as a network marketer for the simple reason that you are your own boss. You are accoutable for your own actions and your own results. The biggest problem beginners run into is procrastinating when it comes to calling leads back. You may wait until it's the right time of the day. Or once you start, get nervous and go check an email. You may have to wait until you have all of your materials in front of you perfectly before you call a single person. Or, a good problem to have, you may have a large list to call and you feel overwhelmed. Either way, not doing this activity will sink your business faster than the Titanic.

To overcome procrastination, take three steps. First, recognize when you are procrastinating. This takes some brutal honesty with yourself about when you are doing this. You may fill your task list with easier, minor tasks instead of the larger more difficult one. You may be excessively getting snacks, or talking with friends. The trick is to recognize and listen to that little birdy on your shoulder that's telling you, you have to get something done.

Second, recognize why you are procrastinating. This will be more dependant on you as the person and the assigned task. The most common reasons for procrastinating are either the task is too overwhelming, or the task is unpleasant. There's a whole host of reasons, but they generally fall into these two categories.

Third, just do it! (like Nike) If the task is overwhelming, ask yourself, how do I eat an elephant? I ask my team this question all the time when we have a daunting task or heavy deadline. The answer is, you eat an elephant one bite at a time. Break the overwhelming task down into bite size pieces and focus only on that one. (see Part 1 for more of focusing) Call one person at a time. Give them your full attention when you speak. After you call a few people, reward yourself by taking a quick 5 min break. But keep it short or you will start procrastinating again! Don't go to watch your favorite television show. Remind yourself of the unpleasant consequences if you don't get it done. Maybe you won't be able to take that vacation, or buy the toy for your child, or get out of your job that you hate! These should light a fire under you. And finally, perhaps the best way to overcome procrastination is to assemble a team of people to hold you accountable. Call your upline or get on a call with your downline and hold each other accountable for completing a pre determined task. Peer pressure works as seen in AA groups and weight loss centers. You can leverage this to your advantage.

I hope these techniques will be helpful in overcoming your procrastination. Time management techinques are one of the keys you will need to succeed as a network marketer.

Part 1 of 4: Time Management for Entrepreneurs and Network Marketers

Hey, everyone, sorry for the absense. I really had to get some things straight and get a firm direction for this blog, which I have now. Thanks for tuning in. This blog will be about time management techniques that I use in my Network Marketing business, but can also be applied to any entrepreneur.

"I don't have time" is the most common excuse to quit for people starting a home business. They let everything in their lives get in their way. From family and friends, their job, other social activities, etc. The old adage that says, "if something is a priority to you, you will make time for it" is very true for any aspect of your life. My question to you is, if you don't make time to invest in something that has the potential to change your lifestyle and your family's lifestyle, how bad do you really want it? How much do you really love your family if you're not willing to do whatever it takes to end their suffering? Being prosperous isn't just a choice, it's the responsibility we have to our community. No excuse is great enough to trump that. Not even "time".

When I was going through a very troubling period in my life, I was placed under enormous pressure to get things done. I had a goal in sight and quitting was not an option. Once I knew I would achieve my goal, no excuse in the book could stand up to me and my determination. Read those few sentences again until you absorb the mental process. It was then that I realized Time is and Illusion. It's not real and massive. It's something that's fluid and moves. I could elongate or crunch time at will. When have you experienced "time flying by" or "time standing still". It's a matter of perception in our minds. Our perception is a reflection of what we focus on. So if we change our focus, we change our perception, and we change how we experience time. This revelation was a game changer for me and I use it everyday now. I realized that one of the biggest things that seperates those who are successful and those who aren't are their time management skills. So let me reveal to you some time management techinques.

One time management techinque I want to point out that will help sharpen your focus, is called the 60/60/30 rule. It's what I use in my everyday life when I really want to get a lot done in a short amount of time. It calls for 50 mins of focus, 10 mins of relaxation, 50 mins of focus, 10 mins of relaxation and then 30 mins of relaxation, then start over again. During those 50 mins, you need to turn off all distractions. No phones, kids, spouse, tv, etc. Hone in on your goal for that 50 mins and just get it done. Point, Blank, Period.

The second time management technique I want to share with you is a version of the 80/20 rule. This says you focus on the 20% of your business that's producing 80% of the results. From the people in your downline that are actually working or the advertising method that produces the most leads. Don't get caught up in doing 5 things when only 2 things work. Test all 5. See which ones produce the most results. Throw out the ones that don't. Test some more. Keep doing this until you master 2 or 3 that produce the most results for you. It'll become second nature to you by then.

The problem that most employees have when they come into the entrepreneur world is that, they are so used to someone else telling them where to go, what to do, and where to spend their time, that they don't have the discipline to get it done on their own. I know it's hard to reprogram yourself from all those years of living by the bell, but if you truly want to transform your life, it's a decision you will have to make. Make that decision that nothing will stop you. Not even time. Then learn some time management techniques to help you cope with the struggle.

For more time management techniques and more training on how to move from the employee to the entrepreneur and be a better network marketer, pick up my free ebook, Lambs to Lions. It the step by step blueprint for changing your mental framework to that of a true entrepreneur so you can really start to see changes in your business. That's it for this blog. Can You See Your Goals?

One technique I've practiced and has helped immensely is a combination of goal setting and visualizations. An internet marketing guru named Mike Dillard said in his book to post the number $10,000 around your house, in your wallet, and wherever you can see on a daily basis. This is to represent what you will eventually spend per month on advertising. He says that eventually, you will become obsessed with this number and when you do, you will become uncomfortable with the fact that you are not spending that much on advertising. You will find ways to do so by growing your business to that point. This is similar to a technique described in Think and Grow Rich, where Napoleon Hill describes this as creating a burning desire for a monetary amount.

I started out with $10,000 like Mike suggested. I posted it on my white board right above my desk in my home office where I could see it regularly. I wrote it on my goal card that I keep in my wallet. Eventually, like they said, I dreamed of living a $10,000 a month lifestyle. I thought of $10,000 all the time. Within a matter of days (it may take longer for some) my mind became accostumed to it. Suddenly, small dollar amounts like $60, $200, and even $1,500 seemed like nothing to me as I beleived I was making $10,000 a month. I even began to have $10,000 ideas and the path to making that kind of money opened up for me. If I ever faced a tough decision, I asked myself, "What would I do if I were the person making $10,000 a month?" and the answers became very clear to me. I haven't made $10,000 a month yet, but I know it's only a matter of time (pretty soon actually). With this technique firmly in my back pocket, the path to untold wealth and achievement lay before me. Whenever I want to move to the next stage in my life, I simply have to write it out, focus on it, my subconcious will get the message, and just go on living my life. I will move up naturally (there will be some effort involved, read my blog "Why Headaches Are a Good Thing..."). A crucial step in this whole process is that you have to Believe that it's possible. If you fight the image with a negative feeling or feeling of disbelief whenever you reflect on your goal, the exercise it pointless. It's like ordering a Big Mac with Diet Pepsi so you'll feel good about yourself.

Many people end their lives not happy and full of regret. They didn't accomplish what they wanted to accomplish. But very often, they never set any firm goals with firm plans of achieving them. A goal without a plan is just a wish. Ambiguous goals return ambiguous results. You have to be VERY clear on what you want, and when you want to have it.

The technique outlined above goes for you as well when becoming the entrepreneur you want to be. Make a picture of the person you want to be and that person's surroundings. Write out what that peson has in their life on a daily basis. Put it where you can see it, focus on it, your subconcious will get the message, and you will attract it naturally.
You can start small, but you will see small results. Start big and you will see big results.

If you have big goals and you need a vehicle to take you there, visit: http://www.massivehomeincome.com/ From there, you can also subscribe to my free Entrepreneur newsletter, where I go into more depth on some of the principles I touch on in my blog. I chose the pic above because it reminded me of myself when I was young, lol. That's it for today...Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it!

To Be or Not To Be...An Entrepreneur

This particular blog will give you an overview of the true principle to success. Most of what I write about in this blog will be centered around this. And when you read my book, Lambs to Lions, it'll be centered around this concept as well. All the other mental shifts I speak about stem from this concept first.

In my company, we call it the Be, Do, Have principle. It's a statement of three verbs that absolutely changed my life. Stop and ask yourself...who am I? Who am I Being? Are you Being the person or entrepreneur you want to be? If not, you should stop what you are doing, take a good long hard look at yourself and make some adjustments. Whoever you are Being in this moment is resulting in the reality that you now face.

Many people attack this from the wrong end. They'll state, I don't Have _____ so I can't Do or Be _______. I myself have fallen into this trap before. I would say, I don't have the money, so I can't buy this program, or launch this marketing campaign today. A true entrepreneur doesn't let such things stop them. I now realize that if I want the results, I must first do the actions, but I must first Be the person that gets those results. Such a paradigm shift has led me to be more creative and use resources I never thought of in the past. I've attracted people and possibilities never before imagined that have allowed me to reach my goals much faster. All because I stopped focusing on the Have and started focusing on the Being. I spoke in my last blog about excuseses. So what excuses for you Haves have you let stand in your way of success? Ok, that's it for today. Remember, start Being the entrepreneur Today! Read autobiographies and other books on the topic of your choice and mimic the leaders.

Start Being the entrepreneur and unlocking possibilities to the lifestyle and income of your dreams by going to http://www.massivehomeincome.com/ Watch my video, read through the site, and leave your information. I'll get back to you shortly. Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it!

Start Being Responsible

Another key element on this mental journey is the concept of responsibility. Look at your friends and family, and possibly yourself, and ask yourself, how many people do you know TRULY take responsibility for their actions? If you listen to the average conversation of people, they speak about the negative in their lives and who they blame for it. Oh, the economy sucks so I can't find a better job, gas prices are too high so we can't take that road trip, my boss hates me and won't give me a raise or that promotion I deserve, traffic was horrible so I was late for work this morning, and the list goes on. So based on these examples why are there more millionaires each year than the year before? Why has Disney experienced a growth in tourism this year? Why are some industries and companies thriving while others are going under? Why are YOU and your business suffering?

A lesson I learned from my fraternity that has stuck with me since was a quote about Excuses. It says "Excuses are tools of incompetence that build monuments of nothingness and those that specialize in them, seldom do well at anything." There are many different variations to this but they all point to the same truth. That truth is that those who fail to be responsible for their short comings will fail to be responsible for their success because they go Hand in Hand.

Taking responsibility of what goes on in your life goes further than just owning up to your failures and weaknesses, but it's a proactive position that entrepreneurs take on their life. Instead of looking on the outside and placing the blame for where you are in your life on your circumstances, ask yourself what decisions did I make to get me where I am. Because we all know the truth is that we are the sum value of our choices and experiences. What can you change internally that will affect your external circumstances? Maybe you need to read that book on marketing, or take that course in business ownership. Maybe you need to continue reading this blog for a complete mental shift on how you look at the world to see some changes, ha ha. There's more to be had in life is you are willing to be responsible for it. Take your next step in responsibility and go to www.MassiveHomeIncome.com Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it!

Why Headaches are a Good thing...

In my research, I've learned the people make decisions based on two things. To either Avoid Pain or Aquire Pleasure. The avoidance of pain is basically where Fear stems from. And like most things in life, Fear can be a double edged sword. There's good Fear and bad Fear. Good Fear keeps you safe. It tells you not to run in the street or drive into a building. Fear is bad whenever it paralyzes you from accomplishing something. Fear is often described as False Evidence Appearing Real. This is true when there's an assumed fear like monsters under the bed, financial ruin if you make an investment, or asking someone you are attracted to out on a date. The best ways to overcome these fears are to learn what you can about them and just Act and Act swiftly. It seems the world responds better to a person that moves with Speed and Purpose rather than someone that moves Slowly and Unfocused.

I'm not here to tell you that all fear is an illusion. Some fear is real, but you can't let that stop you if you plan on achieving greater things in your life. The Avoidance of Pain can not outweight the Aquisition of Pleasure when it comes to success. Because there will be Pain along the way, I can guarantee it. It's the price any person has to pay for success. These bumps and bruises, headaches and sleepless nights are a part of the journey. So is failure. Success without struggle isn't worth having.

These headaches are a good thing though. They teach you the lessons necessary to handle such success. They are the bricks and mortar that build your house in which you and your family will dwell. Without them, your house would crumble. Three Little Pigs come to mind? That's a good story that teaches the value of hard work. So don't fret the struggle or shy away from it. It's all apart of the journey that EVERY successful person had to go through. And often, the greater the success, the harder it was to get there, but the view is SO much greater. So you have to ask yourself, will my Avoidance of Pain outway the desire to Acquire Pleasure? And if so, how much pain am I willing to take to get to where I want? I hope this was helpful. Don't forget to stop by my site at http://www.massivehomeincome.com/ and if you want to work with me, fill in the information box below and I will get back to you shortly. Can You Handle Success?

In my search and constant effort for success, I've come across a saying that rings true to me and has laid the foundation for a successful mindset. It says "You will only ever make as much money as you are willing to be responsible for." This is synonomous with the Biblical saying "He'll never put more on us that we can bear." Like most Biblical quotes, this has been taken out of context. So my question to you is, can you handle success?

Many people WISH for success. They wish for more money, more luxuries, more free time, more time with their kids and the ability to travel. Or they wish for more friends, more fame, a larger business with more customers, etc. But have you stopped and asked yourself, am I willing to handle all of that? A Mercedes-Benz requires more effort (and money) to maintain than a Corolla. A corporation like Microsoft requires more to maintian than your local Mom & Pop diner. I have an immense respect for celebrities when looking through this new frame of reference. It takes a completely different mindset to do what they do. Just like it takes a different mindset to go from earning $30,000 a year to $1,000,000 a year. You can't remain the same person and expect different results. Einstein called this insanity. Now you may be saying to yourself, this is obvious, but you may be suprised at how easily most people miss this basic concept. People seem to try to build the house without laying the foundation first and wonder why the house falls under the slightest wind.

Life will beat the crap out of you, as any entrepreneur or person that demands more out of their life will tell you. It's like there's some unwritten rule that you must go through hell before you experience greatness. If you truly understand the concept stated above, you won't be afraid of these trials as you face them and go through them. Going from low ground to high ground ALWAYS requires effort but the view is much better at the top. What doesn't kill you... Until next time. Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it.

The Nature of the Beast

These are some introspective thoughts that have recently crossed my mind...

The longer I live, the more I realize it was just not meant for me to be an employee. I have a hard time falling in line and following directions blindly. I'm too much of an independent thinker. It seems I continually put my aspirations and goals over that of the organization. Thus, I have very little initiative for doing things I don't want to do but I have all the Drive in the world to accomplish what I want. How can I be an effective employer if I can't relate to the employee mindset? If I cant empathize with them? Looking at myself and others, I've outlined something I need to have in my employees. The jobs I hire people for have to mean more to them that just a paycheck. The jobs need to be what they're passionate about or have some type of incentive to have an initiative...which can be costly. They need to be self-starting and at the same time they need to be selfless and good teamworkers. They should be able to demonstrate where they put the needs of the group over themselves. I've come up with the picture of the perfect employee through looking at myself and analyzing the skills and qualities I like and dislike about myself. I thought for a long time that in order to be a General, you had to be a good Solider first. But if you're a solider with a General mindset, it's just not the place for you to be. There's no need for me to fight my nature any longer. It's just the Nature of the Beast to be uncaged.

If this sounds like you and you want to work with me with the serious possibility of making six figures in the next year. Go to

www.MassiveHomeIncome.com

and I will contact you shortly for an interview. Until next time...Have a Great Day because you Deserve it!

The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth...Part 2

As we left off in our last post about Humility, I wanted to continue this post about the subject and how it pertains to Leadership. I spoke about, and I hope you understand by now, the importance of Humbleness for a leader and how it should be mixed with confidence for the best results. Another aspect of Humility is it's binding power.

Humility has the power to hold a household or an organization together. Think back to your own family and think of who's the binding glue that holds that family together. Sometimes it may be the grandmother, or the mother, or the father. Now think of the traits they embodied and I'm willing to bet you they were one of the most humble people you knew. Humility holds people for the simple reason that it checks pride. People who get puffed up about a disagreement or if things don't necessarily go their way, will continually be disappointed in life because they are too proud.

People say money is the root of all evil, but the truth and heart of this is that PRIDE is root of all evil. Pride can be defined as the belief in your self worth. This sense of self worth needs to be balanced. If not, it can easily get out of hand. People desire to possess more than they need because their pride tells them they are worth more than they are and that they deserve it. People fight back vigorously over superfluous issues because their Pride has told them they shouldn't put up with such nonsense. People kill, lie, and cheat because their Pride has in some way justified their actions. It's no mistake that Pride is one of the 7 Forbidden sins. If you're a believer of the Bible, it's the reason Satan was cast from Heaven. His Pride told him he was equal to God. God had to cast him out. The first commandment, Thou shall have No other God before me (including yourself)...a statement to check your pride. And if you don't believe in the Bible, you can take this parable as a lesson that those with too much pride, suffer dire consequences.

Like all things in life, there has to be a balance between Pride and Humility. While Pride will drive you to achieve more in your life, Humility will act as a check for us when our heads get too big. Pride will drive people away, Humility will bring them in. It allows you to say, I'm Sorry, or I Was Wrong. Pride allows you to find a list of tasks that need to be done, Humility allows you to assign a task and give appreciation when the job is done correctly. Humility, will allow you empathize with someone to resolve a conflict. It also allows you to see a realistic way of achieving your goals. If you ever read the book How To Win Friends and Influence People, the entire concept of successful interpersonal communication is based on Humility. The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth

One word I don't hear tossed around this industry enough that is key to success in any endeavor is the word Humble. There's a quote that says you can have anything in this world, as long as you aren't willing to take credit for it. This is a tough pill to swallow for most people, but let me tell you why Humility is your most powerful weapon when it comes to success in life.

Many people often mistake humbleness as a sign of weakness. These same people very often are not successful themselves. First rule: never listen to the general population if you want to achieve something great! To truly be humble, takes more strength than they could ever imagine. Socrates said The man who knows something, knows that he knows nothing at all. This is humbleness bottled up and handed to you. The person that wants to achieve anything in life realizes two things. One, that they must take massive, unstoppable action, and two, they must get help. Often, when people try to go at it alone, they fail. You are but one person in 6 Billion that takes up one square foot on a planet with a land area of 549,000,000,000,000,000 square feet, on a planet that is orbiting a star that is one of 100 Billion in the galaxy. You will live an average of 75 years on a planet that is 4.5 Billion years old. So if one year equaled a millimeter, your life would be 75 millimeters on a distance from here to Venus. You get the picture. You're pretty small. But one person has the ability to harness the power of an atom, change the course of a river, put a man on the moon, or build the great pyramids. The key to those examples is that they all required Teamwork. One person was powerful enough to have the idea and bring it to life, but humble enough to realize they couldn't do it alone. It's this mixture of humbleness and confidence that are such a lethal mix when it comes to success.

Confidence without humbleness is arrogance. You know these people. They aren't in power very long. Humbleness without confidence is a push over. You know these people. They get no respect. You have to have the confidence in your mission while being humble enough to realize you neither know every aspect of how to get it done, nor can you do it alone. Great leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Jesus, Mahatma Ghandi, Mohammed, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, all were very humble men that made historic impacts on our history. Think about that the next time you want to poke your chest out for finishing an assignment on time! Well I don't want this to get too long. Tune in tomorrow for Humility part 2. There's another aspect of Humility in leadership I would like to share with you. Until then, Have a Great Day because you Deserve it!

Being Consistent Consistenly

As mentioned last night, I'm back tonight to speak on consistency. More directly, on discipline. Put simply, Life Rewards Discipline. A definition of discipline says it is executing the prescribed activity no matter what. Even and especially when it's difficult. Lack of or practice of discipline is one of the skills that separates leaders from followers. Achievers from Dreamers and Do'ers from Wishers.

Jim Rohn said Success is neither magical mor mysterious, but the simple result of a few disciplines applied and repeated daily. Any successful person will tell you that you must complete a discipline that will result in your desired outcome on a daily and consistent basis. To be successful at anything, you must work at it daily. The quote by Jim Rohn perfectly ties together the relationship between discipline and consistency. They are closely tied together, but success can not exist without a combination of them both. If you have not achieved what you want to achieve in your life, ask yourself, which disciplines are embodied by those who have achieved what you want to acheive. Find out what it is they do, and do it daily and consistenly. I know it sounds easier than it is but you'd be suprised at how this simple formula will change your life. That's it for now. Come back tomorrow as I begin my series on Humility. Have a Great Day because you Deserve it!

Where a Good Enough Attitude Will Get You...

Mediocrity and Complacency are among the worse enemies of mankind's ambition for greatness. The fact and desire to settle will extinguish a fire faster than anything else. Yet, to be great in this world, one must always battle with this beast that says things are "Good Enough". Indeed, gravity permeates our lives in more ways than the physical. The pull of gravity is experienced when we try to leave our friends, when we try to access more money, when we try to "move up the ladder", and when we try to better ourselves as people. This pull of gravity is what I've labeled as the Good Enough Factor. The Good Enough Factor is evident all around you. Look at the family who's lived in a town for generations, or the person that's been in middle management for 20 years. Look at yourself and what part of your life have you been stuck at for longer than you've expected. Then ask yourself, what have I genuinely done to escape this gravity? Ask yourself, am I victim of the Good Enough Factor? It is true that attitude, which is formed by belief, is a large factor in determining one's altitude. That being said, a Good Enough Attitude will only get you a Good Enough Life. If it is in you to strive for excellence, there are a number of things you need to do, but one of the first is to get rid of your Good Enough Attitude and adopt an Excellence Attitude. Stop settling for your circumstances and begin to live your life on purpose. Socrates said, we are what we repeatedly do, Excellence, then is a habit. An attitude is formed from a belief which has to be inbeded in the sub-conscious, but I'll go into that on another post. Strive for an Excellence Attitude and you will experience and Excellent Life! That's all for now. Come back tomorrow for more on Consistency. Have a Great Day, because you Deserve it!

Fish In a Larger Pond

Here's a business analogy I ran across recently. You are a fisherman in a small pond with lots of other fishermen. Everyone is making their bait the best looking, the best tasting, and most appealing to the fish. Some guy is selling "how to's" to make your bait the best. Over in the distance, you see a large pond with very few fishermen. Why is no one over there? The water looks just a good and so are the fish. Why not pick up your pole and fish in a larger, less fished pond instead of trying to change your bait a little in a saturated pond? The best part is, you don't even have to be a good fisherman in the other pond if you're the only fisherman over there.

Moral: Fish in a less saturated market and you don't have to be that good to really bring home the big fish.

Sometimes the answer to catching bigger fish isn't changing your bait or getting a bigger net. In an oversaturated market, you can spend loads of money on marketing and endless hours of frustration only to get a trickle of business, or you can pick up your pole, find your own unsaturated niche or marketing strategy, be the first in that market, and really clean house.
Best of Luck in your business and in life. Have a Great Day because you Deserve it!
